Dlicious Thrifts x Euphoria Women’s Market

Delcy Alvarez

Delcy Alvarez never planned on becoming a business owner. But when her coworker Sophia invited her to vend at a Washington D.C. market called Vintage Vineyard, she jumped at the chance. What began as a spontaneous pop-up with her boyfriend and friend Aristotle at Showtime Bar in D.C. quickly became the foundation for Dlicious Thrifts — a vintage and secondhand clothing brand grounded in affordability, instinct, and personal connection.

"I love the feeling of finding something someone’s been looking for," Alvarez says. “It’s helped me not only find pieces for my friends, but for my community.”

Alvarez didn’t follow a strict blueprint. Instead, she trusted her gut, visiting markets like Street Market Gallery in Silver Spring to observe vendor setups, compare pricing, and learn through osmosis. Her early inventory was ready thanks to her Depop hustle, and although she still stamps her tags one letter at a time, she's grown more confident with every event.

“It’s like exposure therapy,” she jokes. “My social skills are so bad, but doing these markets helps.”

Still, she’s quick to credit the people around her. “Instinct helps,” she says, “but support and learning from others — that’s what really pushes you forward.”

Her advice for aspiring business owners? Less is more. “Don’t get too excited and overbuy. Focus on the quality of what you’re offering. Take your time. Organic growth is everything.”

With one year down, Alvarez is still learning, but she's doing it in style.
