“Rain or shine, I wear a hoodie.” For Allegra Atlan, wearing a hoodie everywhere was the starting point of something bigger. At 22, the Miami-raised, New York-born creative has turned that obsession into Studded Mania, a streetwear brand built for girls who want something uniquely chic and undeniably their own.

Born in New York and raised in Miami, Allegra always knew she’d find her way back to the city one day. “It’s something I always knew I needed to do,” she says. That instinct led her to enroll at Parsons School of Design before eventually transferring to Fashion Institute of Technology, where she now studies advertising and marketing. At FIT, she balances business and creativity, mirroring how she approaches her brand.

Studded Mania didn’t come from overthinking. It came from a gap Allegra simply couldn’t ignore. Hoodies were already her everyday uniform, but nothing felt personal. Nothing stood out. “There’s not really any hoodie I have that’s unique or exciting,” she explains. So she decided to change that.

The idea was simple: add hardware. The execution was everything.

Her first prototypes failed completely. The studs fell out. The fabric couldn’t hold the weight. It was a complete mess, to be frank. What followed was a four-month stretch of trial and error, testing different materials, machines, and hoodie weights until she landed on something that worked. Now, the final product is durable enough to survive the wash, the dryer, and real life — exactly how she intended.

But what separates Allegra isn’t just the product. It’s how quickly she moves on instinct. Even before perfecting the design, she was already outside shooting it. “I made the first one, and I knew I needed to start selling them immediately,” she says. In SoHo, with extra studs in her bag and a vision locked in, she created the first visual identity of Studded Mania.

At its core, the brand is what she calls “cool girl clothes,” a streetwear space that feels intentionally feminine without losing its edge. In a category often dominated by unisex design, Studded Mania leans directly into the feminine scene, city life, and individuality.

Still, building in New York City hasn’t been easy. Visibility takes consistency. Growth takes discipline. Between four days of classes and running a brand, Allegra carefully splits her time, dedicating weekdays to school, nights to design, weekends to content, shipping, and building the world around her.

Throughout all this, her mindset stays simple and calm: “Just start.” No overthinking. No waiting.

Studded Mania is still growing, but one day, Allegra says that a SoHo storefront, bigger drops, and collaborations that match the energy are the ultimate goal. Because for Allegra, this was never just about hoodies.

It was about making something that didn’t exist and refusing to stop until it did.
