Chris Mejia
Chris Mejia is an emerging Latino-American artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout his life, he has experienced hardships financially and with self-identity. Growing up in a household where creativity was very limited due to the ideal “macho” Latino heritage, It was very hard for Chris to overcome these difficulties. However, expressing his feelings through photography and art has made things smoother for him. Most of this is expressed within his work as a runway + fashion event photographer.

Throughout his creative career, Chris has shared rooms with fashion designers featured in Vogue Magazine, Office Magazine, Geznomagazine, Bazaar, Latin Grammys, and so on. Some designers and artists he has worked with are Lewis Beilharz, John Ashford, and Janely Music. Other projects he has been involved in are NYFW, SFWRunway, and Astoria Film Festival.

Like anyone trying to aspire to greatness, there is always some inspiration to push the drive, and Chris is no different. Chris receives inspiration from his close friend, Isis Nunez. Isis Nunez is a Latina fashion designer who immigrated from Central America to the United States at the age of 10. Seeing the passion in her eyes as she works on constructing garments inspires him to keep doing what he loves.

Chris is currently working on an Art Show Project that will take place in mid-January or early February. This show is a space for others to network and receive exposure.
Chris does not let boundaries interfere with his passion. He constantly finds ways to stimulate his creativity wherever he goes, which is the message he frequently conveys through his work.
“Our time is so limited on this Earth. Why not spend it on something you love doing?” - Chris Mejia
