At first glance, Teōtl might look like another beautifully branded personal care company. The sleek packaging, refined aesthetic, and growing online presence suggest a brand built for modern consumers. But spend five minutes talking to founder Rodrigo Chacón, and it becomes clear that Teōtl is something much deeper. It is a personal mission rooted in health and relentless sweat equity.
For Rodrigo, the brand began with a personal crisis.

Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico, he was surrounded by a culture that celebrated self-care. Inspired by the traditions of the Aztec civilization, where hygiene was viewed as a ritual rather than a chore, he developed an appreciation for products that helped people feel their best. Years later, while living in Michigan, that appreciation collided with a serious health journey.
As he entered his twenties, Rodrigo found himself dealing with severe anxiety, hormonal imbalances, low energy, and a host of other health issues. Despite searching for answers, traditional solutions left him feeling frustrated. It was only after making significant lifestyle changes and eliminating many of the synthetic products he used daily that he began feeling like himself again.
That experience revealed a gap in the market. “I wanted products that were truly natural, but still felt luxurious,” he explains. “I loved premium brands and the experience they created, but I couldn’t find clean alternatives that actually delivered.”
That realization became Teōtl.

Named after an ancient Aztec concept meaning “sacred energy,” the brand is built on the belief that everything is connected. When people nourish themselves with ingredients that support their bodies rather than work against them, they can become the highest version of themselves. Today, Teōtl’s beef tallow-based skincare products and fragrance-inspired formulations are designed around that philosophy.
Yet what stands out most about Rodrigo is not the products themselves. It is the work behind them.
Like many young founders, he understands that follower counts can be misleading. Social media may showcase the finished product, but it rarely captures the countless hours spent formulating, testing, networking, learning, and building relationships. Rodrigo credits much of his growth not to algorithms, but to showing up in person, meeting customers, connecting with creators, and putting his products directly into people’s hands.

For him, awareness is earned through effort.
That mindset has carried him from Mexico to Michigan and, eventually, to New York City, where he transferred to pursue both education and entrepreneurship. Today, Teōtl continues to grow organically, powered by a loyal community that believes in the mission as much as the products.
Rodrigo is truly building a lifestyle, a philosophy, and a brand rooted in intentionality. And if Teōtl’s journey proves anything, it is that meaningful growth rarely happens behind a screen. It happens through consistency, conviction, and the willingness to keep showing up long before anyone is watching.
